LAUMC welcomes donations of stock. Please call the Finance Department at 650-948-1083 and provide the following information before the transfer, for audit and acknowledgement purposes (please note that due to restricted confidentiality, our broker no longer provides us with donor information. If you do not notify the church of your stock transfer, we will not be able to give the appropriate contribution credit):
- Donor's name and address
- Name and number of securities transferred
- Specific LAUMC programs to which gift should be directed, if any.
There are several ways stock gifts can be handled. Two basic ways follow:
- You can initiate a broker-to-broker transaction by giving LAUMC's account information to your broker. Please contact the church Finance Department to request the church account information.
- If you have stock certificates, they can be hand-delivered to the church. Please sign the back of the certificate exactly as your name appears on the front, and leave the rest of the back blank. When you deliver the certificate to the church you will fill out a form which assigns the certificate to LAUMC.
