Covenant Discipleship is a small group ministry in the Wesleyan tradition. Groups meet weekly for one hour. The agenda is a covenant written by the group based upon the General Rule of Discipleship: To witness to Jesus Christ in the world and to follow his teachings through acts of compassion, justice, worship and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through a process of mutual accountability and support for practicing the basics of Christian faith, members "watch over one another in love."
There comes a time in our faith journey when we are ready to be accountable for our daily walk with Jesus Christ. For a year now, six of us have been meeting once a week as a Covenant Discipleship Group. Together we wrote a covenant of Christian practices that we wanted to see become a part of our life, an effort to "walk the walk." Because of the difference this has made in our lives, we are ready to move on from this group and form new groups. Please prayerfully consider making a year commitment to such a group.
You may pick up a brochure about Covenant Discipleship at the welcome center in the entryway of our Sanctuary as well as sign up for one of the group meetings that you may want to join. Patricia Parfett, Adult Ministry Coordinator, has the list of possible days and times. All new groups will begin the week of April 19.
