Adelphian Choir Concert

Saturday, March 13 at 7:30pm

The Adelphian Choir Concert from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, will be here to share in concert with us AND participate at the 9:30am worship service on March 14. Adelphian Choir, made up of 43 singers, is one of the signature groups of the university and is recognized as one of the Northwest's most acclaimed ensembles. This is the choir of two Starfire Alumni, Dustin Damonte and Ricky Roy, who are eager and excited to share our church with their choir.

Chancel Choir joins Master Sinfonia for concert

Our LAUMC Chancel Choir, Viva la Musica and Master Sinfonia Orchestra will present Beethoven's Mass in C Major on March 13 and 14. This Mass is a work of enormous beauty and reverence. The choirs have been prepared to sing this magnificent work under the direction of Shulamit Hoffmann; the performances will be directed by Master Sinfonia Conductor, David Ramadanoff. Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 88 in G Major will round out the program. Tickets ($20/general, $16/senors, $5/youth under 18) will be available at the door.

Donation "tree" for Mexico

Look for a donation "tree" in the church entry and in Creekside on March 21 and 28, giving you an opportunity to purchase items to be donated to the Mexican family when our Mexico mission team dedicates the house they've built for them in April. Select a tag from the clothes line and return your purchased item(s) to the collection bins, which will be in the church entry March 21 through April 6 marked "Mexico Mission."

Sharing Our Table monthly food drive

March 28

Every fourth Sunday LAUMC holds a food drive to benefit people in need in our own community through Community Services Agency. Our next collection will be Sunday, March 28. Please bring to church non-perishable food items, such as flour, cereal, canned fruit or vegetables, canned meat, condiments, sugar, cooking oil, etc. View the flyer for more information.

Enjoy ragtime favorites while supporting LAUMC's music program

Wednesday, April 21, 7:30pm

Scott Kirby, a renowned performer and composer, will be returning to LAUMC on Wednesday, April 21 for a performance of classic ragtime favorites, early jazz and American treasures. Scott has been a big hit in the past, so get your tickets early! Tickets ($18; $15 for students/seniors) can be purchased by sending your check (made out to LAUMC) and a self-addressed envelope to Pat Osborne, 441 San Domingo Way, Los Altos, CA 94022. Mexico Mission Trip

Registration going on now / Trip Dates: April 10–17, 2010

Put your faith into action — come and be part of the LAUMC 2010 Mexico Trip, April 10–17, 2010! This trip is open to all ages — no prior experience is necessary. We will build simple two-room houses for working people in the outskirts of Tijuana. We will camp during the week and stay in a hotel in Old Town San Diego on the way down and back. This trip will change your life as you get to know and fall in love with the people of Mexico who live and work in conditions very different from ours.
