Children's Ministries Mission:
At LAUMC we are called to teach our children to know God's love for them, and grow in faith through understanding Jesus Christ in a safe, loving and joyful environment.
SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Building a Heart of Faith: Ages 2, 3, 4, 5 and Kindergarten in the Children's Center
Building a Heart of Faith is an exciting program for our preschool and Kindergarten children offered every Sunday at 9:30am and 11:15am. Our loving Sunday School teachers explore the stories of the Bible from the Old and New Testament, and teach our children about God's love for them through creative activities, felt board stories, books, games, music, singing, and play!
Faith Quest: Workshop Rotation Classes for Grades 1–5
Faith Quest rotation workshops teach our children about their relationship with God through Bible stories and by "learning and doing." It is an exciting program offered at 9:30am every Sunday.
Faith Quest combines the newest concepts in education of multiple intelligence learning, with the Biblical teaching of traditional Sunday School. Classrooms are transformed into workshops that encourage hands-on activities in stimulating environments that reinforce verbal, logical, visual, physical, musical, social and independent learning.
Faith Quest features six activity-packed workshops. Each week, grade level classes visit a new destination in Faith Quest. Our goal is to ensure familiarity with the key Bible stories, offer value based interactions, and incorporate critical thinking skills into the lesson. The lesson plan provides links from the Bible to the present, making the Bible applicable in our children's lives.
The same Bible story or concept is taught in the workshops each month. The lessons take on deeper meaning because the students are learning them in new and interesting ways each week. They come to know God through a variety of ways.
Faith Quest Workshops
• Elation Station — games and physical activities
• Good News Network — video production
• Sunday Morning Live — movie theater
• Creation Station — arts, crafts and more

LIVE BIG—Faith in Action: 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Program
Youth are invited each Sunday at 9:30am into the classroom, into the Bible, into faith in action. In this dynamic class, led by enthusiastic teachers, our youth are connected to the Bible story. They explore how their faith can serve others through community service and leadership opportunities through engaging, relevant activities! This fun class meets in the Youth Room — come join us!
Our littlest children up to age two are offered safe, loving care for all morning services in our church nursery. Care is also provided in Room 1 of our Children's Center during our 5:00pm Creekside Crossings Service.
Our Sunday School children are given an opportunity every Sunday to offer a small donation in class that supports Mitiku Hankebo, an 12-year-old boy who lives in Ethiopia, Africa. Mitiku has three sisters and lives at home with his mother and father. He attends both regular school and Sunday School. Mitiku's father is a farmer, and Mitiku proudly helps take care of the animals. Through World Vision, we send our Sunday School donations to Mitiku. These gifts help him obtain new clothes and school supplies. Thank you for reminding your child that supporting Mitiku every Sunday is an important way to reach out and help someone in Africa all year long!
