The pastors, staff, prayer teams and the congregation of the Los Altos United Methodist Church extend our deepest sympathy to anyone who has lost a loved one. All of us wish to offer our services to you in your time of special need.

Our pastors will meet with you and your family to discuss your wishes for a service. We will assist you in selecting familiar hymns or scriptures to create a fitting tribute and remembrance for your loved one.

We can offer our Sanctuary or a smaller, more intimate space, with an organist or pianist and soloist to perform your favorite music. Our staff will assist in planning a memorial bulletin or reception on our campus, if you desire.

Fees are determined by services selected and your connection with our church. The honorarium is $200 for organists and/or pianists; $150 for soloists. For members and constituents of LAUMC, the use of the facilities is provided at no charge. For non-affiliated families, the honorarium for the pastor is $225. The donation for the Sanctuary is $110; the Chapel is $75. For receptions, the room use fee will be determined by the size of the room selected, and the fee for refreshments is based on the food you choose and the number of expected guests. Our Food Services Coordinator will meet with you to plan, suggest and take care of all the details so you can concentrate on greeting your friends.

Our care for you continues after the day of the service. Our pastors are available for pastoral care and are able to refer you to other groups or professionals to assist you and your family in your time of grief. Please contact the church office for further information.

Columbarium

Through centuries of Christian history the churchyard has been a traditional place for burial. Our columbarium site provides a peaceful, tranquil place of beauty for the inurnment of ashes of members, their immediate families (spouses, children, parents), former members, long-term regularly attending friends of the church and Methodist clergy. Benches and plantings provide a quiet place for meditation, reflection and privacy for visitors. For easier access, the main entrance to this site is through a gate from the Foothill Expressway parking lot. A separate gate opens into this special site from the Chapel Garden. There is space for two more columbarium structures on the site, and a possibility for future sites, if needed.
