Adolescent and teenage years are crucial for faith development, personal growth and exploration, beginning to make important life decisions, and becoming secure in who we are as people. At Los Altos United Methodist Church, our goal in Youth Ministries is to be your partners as you journey through your teen years. These can be fun, frightening, confusing, challenging and rewarding times, and we want to be with you through it all. We want to create a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, as free as possible from peer pressure or the need to meet others' expectations. Our only expectation is that you be yourself. We hope that through your involvement here, you might better understand who you are and how to best be the wonderful person God created you to be. Take the plunge and become an active part of life here at LAUMC!

Damonte Scholarship
The Roy Damonte Scholarship, established in 1992 to honor the lifetime ministry of our former Director of Christian Education, is awarded each year to a few outstanding high school seniors from this church. The scholarships will be given to graduating students who have been actively involved in the church and have made a significant impact on the life of the church. Applications are available every spring from Carol Damonte, Director of Youth Ministries.
Acolyte Program
To all LAUMC members entering 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades:
It is the beginning of a new school year and it is also the time in our church calendar when we invite those of you who want to join the acolyte program to come hear all about it. You may have seen these individuals who wear the white robes and assist in the service. Well, if you are interested, we welcome you to join us. It is a fun and rewarding program in which you can be part of the service! No experience is necessary. We do all the training in a few sessions. Lisa Walton is in charge of the Acolytes program.
Briefly, the duties of the acolyte are:
To carry the "Light"
To assist in baptisms
To assist in receiving the offering and to present the offering
To carry the "Light" out to the world
Please consider joining us and being a part of this very important church program.
Peace be with you,
Mark S. Bollwinkel, Senior Pastor
