• Journey, the Junior High Fellowship Group (7th & 8th grades) meets Sunday evenings from 7:00–8:30pm in Room 7
• Lightshine, the 6th, 7th & 8th grade choir, gathers on Wednesdays from 5:00–6:00pm in the Choir Room
• Confirmation for 8th graders meets in January through March only on Sunday mornings. Our first meeting is 9:30-10:30am on Sunday, January 10.
• Sunday School (6th, 7th & 8th grades) meets at 9:30am on Sundays in the Youth Room.
• Acolyte training is held each Fall for 5th–8th graders.

Journey (Youth Group)

Journey meets Sunday nights from 7:00 to 8:30. We have a lot of fun together! On any night you might find us playing games, talking about important social and spiritual topics, studying the Bible, creating things, having an overnight, going to LazerQuest, bowling, to the park... who knows what else? You don't want to miss out on the friends and fellowship this group has to offer you!

Lightshine Choir

Lightshine is our 6th, 7th and 8th grade choir. We meet every Wednesday at 5:00pm. Lightshine sings in church often, and is a part of our Thanksgiving Eve service, Festival of Carols, Christmas Eve service, and the Confirmation Service in the spring. Lightshine is great fun and great music!

Confirmation

Confirmation at LAUMC happens during the 8th grade year. In January, our 8th Grade Sunday School class becomes our Confirmation Class exploring what it means to becomes a member of this church. Confirmation is a time when you traditionally make a decision about joining the church, but this program is for everyone, regardless of whether you are planning to join the church. At the end of the year, you will be invited, but not pressured to join. It will be your decision. The class will confirm who you are as a person, and that you are a valued part of God's creation.         The 2010 Confirmation class starts in January. Our first class which parents attend is from 9:30-10:30am on Sunday, January 10. You will be receiving a packet of information in December. Sunday School

We have a fantastic team of teachers who are constantly thinking up new and different ways of looking at stories of the Bible, as well as dealing with some of the contemporary issues you face in your life. Junior High Sunday School, made up of 6th, 7th and 8th graders, meets in the Youth Room at 9:30am.

Acolytes

Have you ever wondered who lights the candles for the worship service, who receives the offering, who helps with baptisms? You've seen them sitting proudly next to the pastors on Sunday mornings, and you've wanted to be one of them. They are the acolytes, and with a little training, you can join the ranks of the proud few. This is an important service to our church.
