Habitat For Humanity All Faiths House

THE PROJECT
Cleo Avenue Homes

Cleo Avenue, Cupertino

Just West of Hwy 85 @ DeAnza Exit

Cleo Avenue Homes Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley had the good fortune to partner with the City of Cupertino to develop an vacant lot located on Cleo Avenue. Habitat Silicon Valley will build four new evironmentally "green" homes on this lot.

Future Residents Invest "Sweat Equity"

Habitat families purchasing these homes will make a true investment in their homes and neighborhood by working for hundreds of "sweat equity" hours on the construction of their houses and those of their neighbors.

About the Cleo Avenue Homes

The four homes on this .3-acre site will be located on Cleo Avenue and Rainbow Drive near Highway 85 – DeAnza Blvd. exit. The goal is to maintain or exceed the level of sustainable, "green" features of recent Habitat for Humanity projects in Morgan Hill and Santa Clara. The projected total cost of this development is $1.8 million.

LAUMC Involvement

Teaming up with local congregations, we will provide both funding and volunteers to build one of the four houses in this development. On each of the scheduled days listed below, we will work with volunteers from the other congregations in the "All Faiths Alliance" for the Mountain View/Los Altos/Los Altos Hills area. We need construction workers plus additional volunteers to help prepare and serve breakfast and lunch, as well as help with the noon entertainment. There are other volunteer opportunities Wednesday–Friday.

Construction skills are helpful but a willing, servant attitude is most important. You will learn as you build.

Not Up to Construction Work But Still Want to Help?

There are many ways you can support the building effort:

  • Morning volunteers to prepare & serve breakfast
  • Noon volunteers to prepare & serve lunch
  • Noon Entertainment
  • Site Clean Up
  • Donations for construction materials
  • Other support functions
