Starting the Journey Membership Class
Considering membership? Attending our Starting the Journey membership class is one of the requirements for membership at Los Altos UMC. Our Saturday one day sessions (from 9:00am to 2:00pm) are held in the spring and fall each year with lunch and childcare provided. The sessions, facilitated by Pastor Debbie Weatherspoon, include: The Call to Discipleship, Early Methodism and Accountability, The United Methodist Church, The Baptismal Covenant, LAUMC Overview (Building Tour), and The Sacraments.
The fall membership class will be held on Saturday, November 6 with members being received on Sunday, November 14, at the 9:30am service. New members and their families are invited to coffee hour immediately following the service, at 10:30am in Creekside Center.
Whether you are transferring from another United Methodist Church or a long time Los Altos UMC member, this is a great class to deepen the meaning of your journey as a disciple of Jesus Christ, as a United Methodist, and as a member of this congregation.

Confirmation Class for 8th Graders
Confirmation at LAUMC happens during the 8th grade year. In January, our 8th Grade Sunday School class becomes our Confirmation Class exploring what it means to becomes a member of this church. Confirmation is a time when you traditionally make a decision about joining the church, but this program is for everyone, regardless of whether you are planning to join the church. At the end of the year, you will be invited, but not pressured to join. It will be your decision. The class will confirm who you are as a person, and that you are a valued part of God's creation. This message is for everyone!
If you have questions or would like more information, please visit the Youth Ministries page, or contact Carol Damonte at (650) 948-1083 x131 or CarolDamonte@laumc.org.
